New Destinations Requiring Mandatory Electronic Customs Declaration from 2 September 2024

As required by the concerned postal administrations, senders must submit electronic customs declaration before sending mail containing goods to the following new destinations and sending all Speedpost items to the United States of America and its overseas territories with effect from 2 September 2024.

Azerbaijan, Cambodia, India, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Lao (People's Dem. Rep.), Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia (Russian Federation), Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates and Viet Nam

Africa

Angola, Cameroon, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco and Seychelles

America

Chile, Cuba, Puerto Rico#, St. Lucia, Tortola (British Virgin Islands), the United States of America# and Virgin Islands of the United States of America#

Europe

Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Gibraltar, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova and Türkiye

Oceania

Caroline Islands#, French Polynesia, Guam#, Mariana Islands (Northern)#, Marshall Islands#, Micronesia#, Nauru, New Zealand, Palau#, Papua New Guinea, Samoa (the United States of America Territory)#, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Wake Island#, and Wallis & Futuna Islands

#Mandatory electronic customs declaration requirements will be expanded to cover all Speedpost items (including those containing documents). This requirement will be applicable to the United States of America and its overseas territories, including Caroline Islands, Guam, Mariana Islands (Northern), Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Palau, Puerto Rico, Samoa (the United States of America Territory), Virgin Islands of the United States of America and Wake Island

The above requirement is already in place for the posting of mail containing goods to a number of destinations including the Mainland, Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, Jordan, Korea, Norway, Switzerland, the member states of the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, and air mail items containing goods transited via member states of the European Union, Norway and Switzerland. The required electronic customs information is the same as the current ones provided in the paper declaration forms, which includes sender information, addressee information and content information.

As reminded by the concerned postal administrations, mail items not providing accurate electronic customs information may be subject to delay, or returned without processing. Senders should provide a return address on mail items. Items returned without sender information will be destroyed without postage refund.
