“Business Opportunities amid of Technology Development” seminar – December 2017

In December 2017, we jointly organised a seminar with the Hong Kong Productivity Council and the Hong Kong Retail Management Association. The seminar was titled as “Business Opportunities amid of Technology Development”. We not only introduced to participating PostalPlus for SME’s members and other local SMEs our one-stop online sales and promotion solution, but also invited experts on scent printing, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) to teach the audience the way to advertise their products and online stores with new technologies. After that, the Hong Kong Retail Management Association shared with the SMEs the strategy on creating quality eShop, as the means to enhance consumer confidence in their own online stores. Lastly, secretariat of Retail Technology Adoption Assistance Scheme for Manpower Demand Management (ReTAAS) introduced details about the government fund and the application method. The event provided our members and other local SMEs with the latest information on the market, and would help them enhance their competitiveness in the area of e-commerce.

SmartBiz Expo – December 2017

Hong Kong Trade Development Council held the new "SmartBiz Expo" from 6th to 8th December 2017. The Expo was a one-stop platform tailored for enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs), to explore trends in business transformation and upgrade through innovation, creativity, application of technology and design, and market opportunities.

Business representatives visiting the Hongkong Post booth were interested in our "ShopThruPost" online shopping mall, and our delivery solutions like “e-Express” and “SmartPost”. They also actively looked for registration and usage information of our online posting platforms such as “EC-Ship” and "My Speedpost". In addition to providing professional advice to visitors, Hongkong Post staff performed live demonstration on the use of each online platform, and encouraged visitors to download Hongkong Post's mobile app on the spot to enjoy various services available in the app.

Hongkong Post was honored to participate in the “Your Business Solutions - Support & Service” Practical Workshop organized during the exhibition. We introduced our online-to-offline business strategies in the Workshop, including one-stop promotions, online sales, and delivery solutions, which may assist enterprises to innovate, upgrade, and seize new opportunities in global e-commerce.

Seminar and solutions exhibition – May 2017

In May 2017, we organised a seminar and solutions exhibition day with the Hong Kong Retail Management Association. The event focused on business strategies related to e-commerce. We have introduced to the participating SMEs solutions that Hongkong Post newly developed for supporting e-commerce. For example, the Hong Kong Trusted Programme and ShopThruPost, the iPostal Station, and Fulfilment Services launched in last year. In the same event, the Hong Kong Retail Management Association, GS1 Hong Kong, secretariat of Retail Technology Adoption Assistance Scheme for Manpower Demand Management (ReTAAS) have also introduced certification and supporting services required in e-commerce, as well as the relevant development fund. The event has provided comprehensive and important information for SMEs to develop online sales/consignment platforms, build brands, promote business, arrange international and local delivery, logistics, and use posting platforms, which help them operate and develop e-commerce.

Seminar – April 2017

We jointly organised a seminar with the Hong Kong Productivity Council in April 2017. This seminar aimed at providing latest information on online to offline (O2O) business strategies to help SMEs to create unlimited business opportunities. As the preferred partner of local SMEs, we have presented to the participating SMEs and PostalPlus for SME’s members a series of new products and services of Hongkong Post, which was developed for promoting the development of e-commerce and on the theme of "E-commerce in Online and Offline". In addition, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, GS1 Hong Kong, secretariats of the BUD Fund (Enterprise Support Program), and Retail Technology Adoption Assistance Scheme for Manpower Demand Management (ReTAAS) have also introduced other support services required by e-commerce, and applicable funding from the Government. SMEs and members of this club were enthusiastic about sales and delivery services targeting e-commerce, such as ShopThruPost and Hong Kong Trusted Product, e-Express, and Smart Post; as well as promotion services like Circular Service.

World SME Expo 2016

The annual “World SME Expo” organised by HKTDC was successfully held at the HKCEC from 1 to 3 December 2016. As a business partner of local SMEs, Hongkong Post shared a variety of business solutions with SME representatives in the Expo in order to assist SMEs in exploring e-commerce, as well as arranging local and international deliveries under the fast development of e-commerce.

At the Practical Workshops for SMEs entitled “Building and Running Your Online Business” in the Expo, we shared with participants our new services supporting e-commerce, including the “Hong Kong Trusted Product” e-commerce solution on ShopThruPost, the self-service “iPostal Station”, and “Fulfilment Services” which provide a convenient way for local merchants to fulfil their sales orders, etc.

Response at the Expo was overwhelming. Visitors were particularly interested in services designed for e-commerce, such as ShopThruPost, e-Express service, Smart Post service, as well as the iPostal Station and Mail Collection Number (MCN). Through the participation in World SME Expo, we could communicate with our SMEs customers directly which allow us to understand the business needs of SMEs and to keep abreast of the latest development in the market.

Seminar – Oct 2016

In recent years, cross-border e-commerce between Hong Kong and The Mainland has been booming. More and more enterprises have extended their e-commerce arms aiming to tap into The Mainland market. To assist members of PostalPlus for SME and other enterprises to understand the latest tax policy in The Mainland for importing merchandise through this e-commerce, and learn about support services available in Hongkong Post, we jointly organised a seminar with Guangdong Post in October 2016.

In the event, Mr. WU Changquan, the General Manager of China Postal Express & Logistics Co., Ltd, Guangdong International Express Branch introduced the new tax policy for cross-border e-commerce commenced in April 2016, as well as the user-friendly platform, “Customs-Postal e-Platform”, which was developed by Guangdong Post and Guangzhou Customs. Hongkong Post has also shared with attendees the new trend in international mail customs clearance, and introduced our total business solution for e-commerce market. We have also encouraged participants to use Hongkong Post’s online posting platforms in order to enjoy the great convenience of electronic customs clearance brought by the “Customs-Postal e-Platform”. The seminar was followed with a lively Q&A session. Participants were interested in the computation of the new tax, the operations of “Customs-Postal e-platform”, and Hongkong Post's international mail delivery services.
